Genome and Transcriptome of Sesames

The cultivated sesame S. indicum cv. XH has high sesamin content (~10 g/Kg), while S. schinzianum is a wild allotetraploid sesame with high sesamolin content (~9 g/Kg) and resistance (such as drought resistance). In this study, we presented chromosome-level genome sequences for the two sesames, respectively. We further performed compared genome and transcriptome analysis to understand the genetic and molecular feature of the two sesames. The high-quality genome assemblies and reliable analysis results contribute to the subsequent breeding research.
