## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.\n\nContains information on petroleum' gas and coal exploration wells within the Northern Territory and its administered waters. The data is captured by entering "notice of intent data", reviewing company reports and/or field work.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nTo indicate the locations of petroleum wells in Northern Territory and for administration purposes.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nDerived through the Northern Territory Government, Department of Mines and Energy www.ntlis.nt.gov.au., as follows; Data originally captured as hardcopy. Transferred to Unify database in 1986. Transferred to Access97 database in 1999. Data captured from daily drilling reports, open file comapny reports, geoogical publications, company Annual & Quarterly Reports and in newsprint and over the Internet.
