Raising awareness of endocrine disruptors among high school students
收藏资源简介:
The Île-de-France region is committed to the fight against endocrine disruptors, in particular by raising awareness among high school students. In 2023, more than 2,000 high school students were sensitised, nearly 500 of whom participated in a scientific experiment to assess their exposure to 9 phthalates. The objective of the project was to familiarise high school students with the issue of endocrine disruptors, in particular by means of a brochure distributed in 13000 copies, but also to involve them. For this, 489 of them wore a silicone bracelet for 7 days to evaluate their exposure to 9 phthalates. The dataset lists the participating high schools, the number of students sensitised and the number of students who have agreed to participate in the scientific experiment by wearing the bracelet. What is an endocrine disruptor? These are chemicals that have the ability to interact with the hormonal system and induce adverse effects on the body. These substances are present in our indoor and outdoor environment on a daily basis and the sources of exposure are multiple (food, cosmetics, plastic objects, cleaning products, etc.).
