Disease or damage that impacts neuromuscular tissues thus has a severe negative impact on health, mobility, and quality-of-life, motivating the development of tissue engineered models of the motor control system. Here we present a 1-step fabrication method for manufacturing an all-hydrogel organ-on-a-chip with a spinal cord-inspired design, enabling reproducible patterning of multiple independent motor units. Overall design: C2C12 myoblasts, wild type(WT) and genetically encoded calcium indicator line(RGECO), grown on a methacrylated gelatin hydrogel and differentiated for 14 days before RNA extraction.
