IndiaRice500: Annual Rice Area and Yield Dataset for India from Self-Supervised Digital Twins during 2004 to 2021

IndiaRice500 is a new 500 metre resolution dataset mapping annual rice area and production from 2004 to 2021 across India (the largest rice producer). Using satellite, weather, and farming information, we built these maps without need for costly field surveys. The dataset shows rising rice production with regional expansion, intensification, and discontinuation of rice farming. This dataset can help guide sustainable development such as zeroing hunger, saving water, and combating climate change.
