Octocoral canopy metrics (mean height, density, and closure) in St. John, US Virgin Islands in March of 2019

These data represent the octocoral canopy metrics (mean height, density, and closure) in quadrats (1 m2) where light regimes were quantified. Surveys took place at the Yawzi Point (~8-m depth) and East Cabritte (~9-m depth) sites in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands during March of 2019. These data were collected as part of an NSF Coral Reef Time Series, Virgin Islands: Long-term coral reef community dynamics in the Virgin Islands National Park and were published in Girard and Edmunds (2023).本数据集表征了已量化光照状况的1平方米样方（quadrats）内的八放珊瑚（octocoral）冠层指标，涵盖平均高度、密度与闭合度。本次野外调查于2019年3月在美国维尔京群岛圣约翰岛的Yawzi Point（约8米水深）与East Cabritte（约9米水深）两个站点开展。 本数据集作为美国国家科学基金会（National Science Foundation, NSF）「维尔京群岛珊瑚礁时间序列：维尔京群岛国家公园珊瑚礁群落长期动态」项目的组成部分采集所得，并已发表于Girard与Edmunds（2023）的研究成果中。
