Clinical Metagenomics for Pathogen Detection in Febrile Illness

This study assesses the effectiveness of a broad-spectrum, in-house-developed mNGS pipeline and its agreement with established molecular tests in patients with acute febrile illness without localization. The protocol uses plasma and whole blood processed separately, which are then merged into a single sample prior to library preparation. This unified upstream preparation enables sensitive detection of pathogens with DNA and RNA genomes.
