Ten days (18.-28.03.2014) continuous recordings from a surface-facing Simrad EK60 echosounder (38 and 200 kHz) moored at 885 m depth near Thuwal in the central Red Sea@en

A Simrad EK60 echosounder (38 and 200 kHz) was deployed on the bottom (885 m depth) in the central Red Sea near Thuwal for 10 days (18.-28.03.2014). The echosounder continuously recorded water column backscatter with a time resolution of around 0.5 pings s-1 to monitor the movement and abundance of scattering layers and individuals over depth and time.
