Legislative Information of the violence against women propositions

This dataset comprises 1,492 Brazilian legislative propositions under consideration related to violence against women. The records were extracted from the Legislative Information System of the Chamber of Deputies on January 30, 2026, and subsequently manually filtered to ensure thematic relevance to the Maria da Penha Law domain and to legislative responses addressing violence against women. Each record corresponds to one individual legislative proposition and includes identifying metadata, such as proposition type, number, year, and status, as well as textual fields used for classification, namely the official summary and institutional indexing terms/subjects. These metadata fields support the analysis of how legislative responses to violence against women are represented, categorized, and monitored within the Brazilian legislative information system. The dataset was prepared to support the development and validation of a Triangulated Categorization Framework for monitoring sustainable legislative responses to violence against women in Brazil. It enables the classification of legislative propositions according to intervention logics derived from the Maria da Penha Law, especially Prevention, Protection, and Punishment, and supports further studies on Knowledge Organization (KO), legislative information, gender-based violence, public policy monitoring, and Sustainable Development Goal 5.
