资源简介:
This study is based on replicating and analyzing annual data on the thermal performance of a double-skin façade with a lattice exterior, which was implemented in a classroom at the University of Panama in a humid tropical climate. April was selected as the reference month for the detailed analysis because it is statistically the hottest month of the year, according to the case study's historical climate data. Sensors were placed on the exterior skin (1A) and the interior skin (1B), while the cavity between both skins is monitored by a thermo-hygrometer labeled as TH1.
The methodological process was developed in two main phases. First, the model was calibrated using energy simulations in DesignBuilder with the EnergyPlus calculation engine. This stage included comparing real data obtained through in situ monitoring with simulation results to validate the model's accuracy.
Second, nine different hypotheses (H) were analyzed by modifying the configuration characteristics of the façade, such as the lattice arrangement, the presence or absence of an intermediate chamber, and the classroom's position relative to the façade. The objective was to evaluate the thermal behavior of the space and determine if the current façade configuration is suitable for a humid tropical environment like Panama's.
