Canadian Gallup Poll, September 1980, #442_1

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on both political and social issues. The questions ask opinions about political leaders and political issues within the country. There are also questions on other topics of interest and importance to the country and government, such as metric conversions; the seriousness of acid rain and immigration. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographical variables. Topics of interest include: allowing provincial restrictions to job access; the approval of Broadbent as NDP leader; the approval of Clark as leader of the Conservative party; the approval of Trudeau as Prime Minister; changing the immigration policy; decreasing immigration; difficulty of metric conversion; how serious acid rain is; increasing immigration; increasing pay; making metric distance conversions; making metric weight conversions; preferable Head of State; quality of teaching; recommending professions to young people; shortening the work week; the success of US-Can acid rain agreement; teacher-student relationships; what acid rain is; and what PetroCan should be involved in. Basic demographic variables are also included.
