THE MASSIVE PROTOSTAR IRAS16547-4247 AND ITS NON-THERMAL RADIO OUTFLOW
收藏资源简介:
We propose a 30 ksec EPIC observation of the luminous outflow source IRAS165474247, recently discovered in the radio range. This is the first case of aradio outflow associated with a massive forming star. What makes this outflowremarkable is that it is associated with two symmetrical nonthermal radiolobes, emanating from a central thermal radio source interpreted as a collimatedionized jet. We want to investigate the relation between the radio, IR and Xrayemission, in particular the thermal (shock) vs. nonthermal (synchrotron)mechanisms, and compare with the microquasar XTE J1550564, recently detected inXrays, with which IRAS 165474247 shares intriguing observational similarities. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
