Five pieces of Korean pottery were examined for evidence of opal
phytoliths that would indicate the presence of domesticated grasses. All of
the samples contained phytoliths. In addition, two sherds yielded diatoms,
and two contained carbonized plant fibers. The observed phytoliths were low
in frequency and consisted of Festucoid, Panicoid, and Elongate types.
