The purpose of the study was to analyze the selection signal of the Tibetan black chickens (TBCs) and to discover the genes that determine the characteristics of the germplasm. Methods: Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) was used to identify the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers in the genome of the Tibetan black chicken to determine their genetic structure. For comparative population genomics study, the genomic data were downloaded for five wild Red Jungle Fowls (RJFs) from the NCBI database. Fst and Pi selections were used to identify genes under positive selection in the Tibetan black chicken genome.
