资源简介:
All files were created in ArcGIS Pro. The data consists of four zipped shapefiles: calorisBins.zip, moderatelyDegradedFreshCratersCalorisBins.zip, heavilyDegradedCratersCalorisBins.zip, and FaultsCalorisBins.zip. The structural data was compiled from previous datasets, this file archive contains added fields in the attribute tables from geospatial analyses indicating their structural relationship with the Caloris basin. The corresponding research is titled "Mercury’s tectonics record a damage zone from the Caloris basin-forming impact" with the same authors and is intended to be published in 2026.
calorisBins shapefile
File contains 62 areas with boundaries in concentric and radial configurations around the Caloris basin. Field “BinNumber” has areas labeled. BinNumber “1” is the Caloris basin and BinNumber “26” is the antipodal area.
moderatelyDegradedFreshCratersCalorisBins shapefile
File contains data for moderately degraded to fresh craters (crater classes 3,4, and 5). Crater class is documented in field “CRATER_CLA”. Each structural segment has “BinNumber” from calorisBins shapefile assigned to them. File has spherical lengths listed for each structural segment under field “Sph_Len”. Azimuths from 0 to 180 degrees are listed under field alias “Azimuth”. Fields “Concentric” and “Radial” have positive entries (marked with a “1”) and negative entries (“0”) to indicate if they are oriented concentrically or radially around the Caloris basin. Entries with both positive radial and concentric entries are in the antipode.
heavilyDegradedCratersCalorisBins shapefile
File contains data for heavily degraded craters (crater classes 1 and 2). Crater class is documented in field “CRATER_CLA”. Each structural segment has “BinNumber” from calorisBins shapefile assigned to them. File has spherical lengths listed for each structural segment under field “Sph_Len”. Azimuths from 0 to 180 degrees are listed under field “Azimuth”. Fields “Concentric” and “Radial” have positive entries (marked with a “1”) and negative entries (“0”) to indicate if they are oriented concentrically or radially around the Caloris basin. Entries with both positive radial and concentric entries are in the antipode.
FaultsCalorisBins shapefile
File contains data for faults. Fault type is documented in field “Fault_Type”. Each structural segment has “BinNumber” from calorisBins shapefile assigned to them. File has spherical lengths listed for each structural segment under field “Seg_Len”. The length of the total structure the segment belongs to is listed in field “Sph_Len”.
