Feller-Buncher Sounds with DBH

We were interested in predicting tree properties, particularly size, from the sound made by a feller-buncher hotsaw during felling. Included are 279 3-second clips of felling sounds, along with stem size (DBH) information. Cut duration was found to predict stem size moderately well (standard error of prediction = 4.6 cm), but not well enough to be useful in measuring properties of individual stems. Could be useful for tract-level, or per-hectare predictions.本研究旨在通过伐木归堆机（feller-buncher）热锯（hotsaw）在伐木过程中产生的声响，预测树木属性，尤其是树干尺寸。本数据集包含279段时长为3秒的伐木声音片段，同时附带了树干尺寸（胸径，Diameter at Breast Height）相关信息。研究发现，锯切时长可中等程度较好地预测树干尺寸，其预测标准误为4.6厘米，但该精度尚不足以用于单根树干的属性测量。该数据集可应用于地块级或每公顷尺度的属性预测。
