In male animals, the efferent tube is a tubular structure that links the testis to the epididymis and is the only path via which sperm enter the epididymis. There is currently little research on the efferent tube, particularly at the single-cell level, and the single-cell map and marker genes of the efferent tube are yet unknown. We employed single-cell nuclear sequencing to create a single-cell map of the efferent tube and to investigate the processes that keep epithelial homeostasis in check.
