Kidney dysfunction was defined as low eGFR (<60 ml/min per 1.73 m2) or increased UACR (≥30 mg/g) or both. UACR = urine albumin-creatinine ratio; eGFR = estimated glomerular filtration rate.

In the multivariate model for the eGFR level, the urinary albumin level was additionally adjusted. Hematoma volume was further adjusted when hemorrhagic stroke was analyzed separately.
