资源简介:
The Geographical Names Board of New South Wales (Board) is the state government authority for place naming, as defined by Section 5 of the Geographical Names Act 1966. It falls under the purview of the Office of the Surveyor-General, which in turn is a part of the Department of Customer Service. The Board consists of nine members (as defined by the Act, Section3) and counsellors (as defined by the Act, Section 6). The Board meets 5 times per year to discuss place name issues, assign place names and make decisions on place name proposals. The minutes and agendas are a record of what was considered by the Board and its resolutions. The agendas provide a reference point including reports and proposals and the minutes reflect what decisions were made by the Board, confirm future actions and provide evidence of adherence to obligations as defined by the Geographical Names Act 1966.
