A high resolution rainstorm dataset for China derived from half hourly Global Precipitation Measurement data in 2001-2023

This dataset contains the Access database as well as Geotiff datasets for China's rainstorms during 2001 to 2023. It was generated from GPM Multi-satellite Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) product V07, with half hourly temporal resolution and 0.1 arc-degree spatial resolution, using python scripts. The scripts, whose function is to identify rainstorm events from time series grid precipitation datasets, have also been included in the database. They can not only be used for identifying rainstorms from GPM product, but also can be used for identifying rainstorms from any other time series grid precipitation dataset, such as the reanalysis precipitation data or precipitation data interpolated from gauge observations. Please bearing in mind that there are also uncertainties, not only from the method we are using, but also from the original GPM dataset we are using
