Social Care Residences for the Elderly

The Residencia Socio Assistenziale (RSA) mainly provides social assistance services to elderly people, over 64 years of age, with serious psychophysical deficits, who do not require complex health services, but who require a high degree of assistance to the person with assistance-type interventions, who are not able to lead an autonomous life and whose pathologies, not in the acute phase, cannot predict that limited levels of recoverability of autonomy and cannot be assisted at home.
The social residence is functionally connected with the social and health services of the area, including general medical care, pharmaceutical care, social secretariat, integrated home care, day-care residential centres, also in order to plan the continuity of care interventions for guests after discharge and to reduce the incidence of hospitalisation or in non-hospital health facilities (Article 67 of R.R. 4/2007).
