Sigma factor B2 is one of 13 sigma factors in this cyanobacterium. To determin the SigB2 regulon, transcriptional differences between a sigB2 mutant and overexpression strain were determined in this study. Overall design: Analysis used RNA isolated from exponentially grown sigB2 mutant (M) and sigB2 overexpression (OE) strains to maximize gene expression changes in the SigB2 regulon. Comparisons were made using data from 4 arrays containing dye swaps of two biological samples.
