Functional diversity of Iberian waterbird communities from natural lakes and man-made reservoirs shows divergent temporal dynamics

This repository contains the datasets and R scripts associated with the study Functional diversity of Iberian waterbird communities from natural lakes and man-made reservoirs shows divergent temporal dynamics.Community data are provided as Site × Species matrices, with one matrix per river basin (Guadiana, Guadalquivir, Júcar, and Segura). Each matrix contains annual records of waterbird community composition for each sampling site.The file “mydata2.csv” contains metadata and environmental information for each community (one record per site and year). Variables include site characteristics (size and location), wetland type (reservoir = embalse; lagoon = laguna), functional diversity metrics, and abiotic environmental descriptors.The file “TotalTraits.txt” provides the functional trait dataset used in the analyses, including morphological, ecological, and behavioral attributes for all bird species included in the community matrices.In addition, the repository includes R scripts used to process the data and calculate functional diversity metrics, allowing full reproducibility of the analyses presented in the study.
