Single-cell ATAC-seq and single-cell RNA-seq of stimulated human peripheral blood CD56+ immune cells

Stimulation-responsive regions of chromatin are known to be enriched for autoimmune variant, but a lack of resolution to identify new pathways or phenotypes relevant to a specific disease has limited the clinical translation of these findings. To determine the role of the innate immune system in this context, we isolated CD56+ immune cells from healthy human peripheral blood and identified causative cell populations and phenotypes that are exposed in response to stimulation.
