Methanogenic archaea community structure from wetlands

Widespread conversion of coastal wetlands into aquaculture ponds in coastal region often results in degradation of the wetland ecosystems, but its effects on soil potential to produce greenhouse gases remain unclear. This study aimed to examine the effect of on soil methanogenic archaea community structure, its methane production potential and related climate impact in three brackish marsh and the nearby aquaculture ponds in southeastern China.
