Population structure of blue crabs based on RAD-seq data

The blue crab is a decapod with a broad marine distribution. Assessing genetic structure is essential because the allocation of management resources to assess fishing quota requires knowing the populations' distribution and limits. Should all locations be managed the same way or is it better to manage the population by state or region? The answer to these questions depends on whether there is differentiation among localities. Previous studies have used neutral genetic markers to assess population subdivision. We use NGS data because of the possibility of extracting markers under selection that can be identified using different FST outlier approaches.
