Control of nitrogen remobilization and senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana by DNA methylation dynamics

Senescence is altered in mutants that are defective in DNA methylation; in leaves the process of senescence is associated with very moderate initial decline in chromosomal methylation that reversed at later stages. Methylation changes were not specifically associated with senescence-associated genes and potential regulation of transcription factor binding is suggested. Examination of cytosine methylation at four distinct timepoints after flower induction in A. thaliana
