Translation (Rita Seng Mai) I would like to tell you about the confluence of Mali Hka and Nmai Hka in Tang Hpre village. It is really popular. Now, there is a Catholic church in the Confluence area. It was the place where many Japanese soldiers were buried during the war. One day in the past, there was a female teacher whose posting was in Tang Hpre. She had been teaching at the nursery school. She also taught primary and secondary students in the mornings and evenings. One day, she cooked lunch for her students before she dismissed the class. She cooked it in the wooden kitchen. While she was in the wooden kitchen, a person walked past it. She heard that this place was haunted. Many people were haunted by ghosts. The ghosts even carried people out of the house while they were sleeping. However, she didn't totally believe in it. She was not scared of ghosts. On that day, she heard a footstep near her. She just thought a Catholic nun was walking outside the kitchen. But there was no one around it when she checked. All the nuns were just praying in their dorms at that time. Then she believed that there were ghosts. Even so, she didn't tell her students about it. She was worried that her students might get scared. One day, there was a big celebration. There was a classroom downstair, and there were bedrooms upstair. At the corner, there was a bedroom for the teachers next to the kitchen upstairs. It was a full moon night. That night, they were haunted. They heard loud noises from the kitchen. The noises were out after the pots and plates were falling. However, the teachers thought, "There might be cows in the kitchen!" Then they went there to check. They were holding knives and axes and went to the kitchen to check. But there was nothing! The door was close, and every kitchenware was just still there. They understood that they were haunted that day. One day, a male student told her about what he experienced while she was working at night. He told her, "Teacher, I was touched from head to toe last night. I thought my friend touched me because he wanted to go to the toilet. So I woke up and checked on him. But he was just sleeping soundly. Then I knew that I was haunted." Then the teacher, who didn't believe in ghosts, felt scared. She decided, "I shouldn't live here anymore. One day, when I am weak in religion, something bad might happen to me." She didn't work there anymore, and she left that place. Later, she applied for the position of government teacher and became a teacher. 今我欲向诸位讲述唐普雷村(Tang Hpre)内马里卡河(Mali Hka)与恩迈卡河(Nmai Hka)的汇流之处。此地素来声名远播。如今汇流区域内建有一座天主教堂,战时曾为诸多日军士兵的安葬之所。
往昔某日,有一位女教师赴唐普雷村任教,她不仅在幼儿园授课,早晚还会为中小学学生授课。一日,她在下课前为学生们烹制午餐,后厨为一间木屋。当她身处木厨之时,有一人途经此处。此前她曾听闻此地常有灵异之事,不少村民都曾遭遇鬼祟侵扰,甚至有睡梦中被鬼拖离居所的怪事。但她起初并未全然相信,亦未曾惧怕鬼怪。
当日,她听见身旁传来脚步声,只当是有天主教修女在厨外行走,可起身查看时却空无一人——彼时所有修女都在宿舍内祈祷。至此她方才确信此地确有灵异。即便如此,她并未将此事告知学生,唯恐孩子们受惊。
一日,村中举办盛大庆典。校舍楼下为教室,楼上为宿舍,厨房旁的转角处设有一间教师寝室。时值满月之夜,当晚众人皆遭遇灵异事件:厨房内传来巨响,声响过后是锅碗瓢盆摔落的动静。教师们起初以为是有牛闯入厨房,遂持刀斧前往查看,却空无所得:厨房房门紧闭,所有厨具皆原封不动摆放妥当。众人这才明白,当日确是撞了邪。
又一日,一名男学生向她提及自己夜间的遭遇:“老师,昨夜我浑身被触碰了一遍,原以为是友人想上厕所才碰我,便起身查看,却见他睡得正沉,这才知晓自己是撞了鬼。” 此前不信鬼怪的教师闻言竟心生惧意,她暗自思忖:“我已不宜再在此处居住,倘若日后我宗教信仰动摇,恐会遭遇不测。” 于是她辞去教职,离开了此地。后来她报考了公办教师岗位,如愿成为了一名教师。
