This table lists the reservoirs of aquatic biodiversity. Pursuant to Article R.371-19 II of the Environmental Code, biodiversity reservoirs are areas in which biodiversity, rare or common, threatened or not threatened, is the richest or best represented, where species can carry out all or part of their life cycle (feeding, reproduction, resting) and where natural habitats can function, in particular by being of sufficient size. These are spaces that can house nuclei of species populations from which individuals disperse, or may accommodate new populations of species.
