In this study we explored diversity of V3 region of 16S rRNA genes obtained via barcoded 454 pyrosequencing (of 80 fecal samples collected from mice at the baseline and the 12th week of the trial) to demonstrate the modulation of gut microbiota and its possible role during probiotics-mediated prevention of metabolic syndrome in high fat diet-fed mice.
