Coral calcification plays a privotal role in the maintenance of the coral ecosystem. To date, the molecular mechanisms underlying coral calcification is not well described. In order to find out genes potentially involved in coral calcification, we carried out transcriptome sequencing for the hermatypic coral Cyphastrea serailia using Illumina HiSeq sequencing platform.
