Wildlife corridors with wild barriers and wild structures

The Confederation and the cantons are obliged by international conventions and national laws to ensure the permeability of the landscape for wildlife. Today, numerous wildlife corridors are severely restricted or even interrupted in their function. Wildlife corridors cover the most important areas for the large-scale migration of wild animals and for the interconnection of their core and sub-living spaces. Mobility is so important for wildlife because it serves seasonal migration and genetic exchange between populations and allows for the colonisation of new areas.
