As pollution is prevalent in many coastal and estuarine environments, where it enters the marine food chain primarily through microalgae, ultimately causing toxic harm to both humans and animals. This study demonstrated that Zn increased DOP availability, enabling P. tricornutum to enhance the conversion of DOP to DIP by regulating genes involved in internal P transport and metabolism, thereby reducing As accumulation. This, in turn, promoted the growth of P. tricornutum and alleviated oxidative stress. These findings contribute to our understanding of the biogeochemical cycling of As in marine environments.
