Ventricular transcriptomic analysis in redband trout

We sampled ventricles from three redband trout populations in southern Idaho (Little Jacks Creek: desert climate, Keithley Creek: cool montane climate, and Fawn Creek: cold montane climate). Hybrids between Keithley females and Little Jacks males were produced and also sampled. Ventricles were sampled during acute warming at temperatures of 15°C (control, acclimation temperature), 20°C and critical temperature (cardiac arrhythmia). RNA-seq was used to explore intraspecific differences in gene expression and its association with cardiac function.
