Whole Genome Sequencing comparative study of Salmonella enterica serovar Infantis German isolates from broiler farms collected during two distant decades.

During the last decade, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Infantis has become more prevalent across Europe and has also shown an increased capability to persist in broiler farms.In this study, we aimed to analyze the potential genetic causes for the increased emergence and longer persistence of S. Infantis in German broiler farms.In summary, our results are in line with the findings from other authors and this leads to the robust conclusions about the emergency of multidrug resistant and virulent S. Infantis clones.
