This repository contains all experimental data and source code required to reproduce the figures in the paper Shankar S, Bryde P, Mahadevan L. 2022 Geometric control of topological dynamics in a singing saw. The dataset contains the following folders: experiments: Contains the experimental data (raw audio) and data analysis code to reproduce the experimental components of the figures: Fig. 1D, Fig. 3C-D, and Fig. S1A-C.The experimental data is contained in the J-bow, J-mallet, S-saw and S-mallet subfolders. simulations: Contains the code to run the numerical simulations and reproduce Fig. 2B-E, Fig. 3A-B, Fig. S2A-B, and Fig. S3A-D.The simulation code is written in Python and organized as follows:The shells folder contains finite element simulation code based partly on the FEniCS-Shells library1 and employs the FEniCS Project finite element problem solving environment. The saw folder contains scripts that perform the numerical simulations and produce the graphs.
