Gaofen-6 was officially commissioned into operation on March 21, 2019. As a low-Earth-orbit optical remote sensing satellite, it exhibits prominent characteristics including high resolution, wide coverage, excellent image quality and efficient imaging capabilities. It is configured with two payloads: a 2-meter panchromatic/8-meter multispectral high-resolution camera (PMS) and a 16-meter multispectral medium-resolution wide-swath camera (WFV).
