Minutes of Meeting: Linked Data Technical Sub-Committee (LIDATEC), 19 August 2015

Notes of the inaugural meeting on 19 August 2015 at WLIC in Cape Town, South Africa of the LIDATEC Technical Sub-Committee of the Committee on Standards were published in the absence of formal minutes. Under the inaugural chair Lars Svensson, the meeting reviewed its terms of reference and summarized the actions and work of its forerunner committee, the Namespaces Technical Committee reporting to the Subject Analysis and Access Section. These included work in progress on documents: Guidelines on Using and Extending IFLA Namespaces (draft), Issues of Constrained and Unconstrained Namespaces (draft), Guidelines for translations of IFLA Namespaces (v.2.0), Guidelines for Translations of the ISBD Namespace in RDF (v.1.0). Other topics discussed were: the namespace needs for the FRBR Review Group and the Permanent UNIMARC Committee, the need for a technical liaison for MulDiCat, options for infrastructure for the IFLA Namespaces registry and report on previous survey of alternatives.
