Identification of novel Providencia manganoxydans strains isolated from Penaeus monodon in Bangladesh.

This study presents the first identification of novel Providencia manganoxydans strains isolated from Penaeus monodon in Bangladesh. The primary objective is to generate high-resolution genomic data to analyze the population structure, evolutionary patterns, and virulence factors of Providencia manganoxydans in shrimp farms. By sequencing these isolates, the study aims to identify genetic markers associated with pathogenicity and antimicrobial resistance, which will aid in the development of targeted disease management strategies. Additionally, the research seeks to assess the genetic relatedness between Bangladeshi isolates and globally reported strains, providing insights into potential transmission routes and the emergence of pathogenic clones.
