FoodNet- Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network

Users can access information about the burden and trends in foodborne disease in the United States. Background The FoodNet- Foodborne Disease Active Surveillance Network is a collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control, 10 Emerging Infection Program Sites, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Datasets, fact sheets, and annual reports are available. However, data is only available for the 10 Emerging Infection program sites which include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Ore gon, and Tennessee. Information about incidence, foodborne disease type, percent change over time of a given disease, and relative rates are available. User functionality Data is presented in reports, tables, and summaries and is available for download in PDF format. FoodNet Annual Reports are summaries of information collected through active surveillance of nine pathogens (Cyclospora, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacter, Listeria, Salmonella, Shigella,STEC, Vibrio, Yersinia) Data Notes A preliminary version of the FoodNet Annual report becomes available in the spring of each year and forms the basis of each year's Mo rbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) FoodNet Surveillance. The FoodNet Final Report becomes available later in the year when current census information becomes available. Reports are currently available from 1997 – 2007.
