ATAC-seq, RRBS, RNA-seq and WGS of immune cells from global cattle breeds

We have generated assay for transposase-accessible chromatin using sequencing (ATAC-seq) and reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS) datasets for seven immune cell types across three diverse cattle breeds. Holstein Friesian, N'Dama, and Nelore cattle were selected to represent the European taurine, African taurine, and indicine cattle lineages, respectively. RNA-seq gene expression data for six immune cell types from Holstein Friesian cattle and three immune cell types from Nelore cattle have also been generated. To test the accuracy of digital cytometry methods to deconvolute mixed immune cell populations based on their methylation profiles we also generated in vitro cellular mixtures and red blood cell lysed blood samples that were analysed by RRBS. Finally, we performed whole genome sequencing of the nine reference animals used in the study.
