RNAseq data from MCF-7 cells selected for high and low SYBR-Gold staining intensity.

Mitochondrial nucleoids in MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cells were stained with SYBR Gold dye (ThermoFisher, Massachusetts, USA, #S11494) at a dilution of 1:20,000 for 30 min. After staining, the cells were subjected to flow cytometry, using the SONY SH800 Cell Sorter, to isolate the 5% highest green fluorescent (mtDNA-high 5%) and the 5% lowest green fluorescent (mtDNA-low 5%) sub-populations. These subpopulations were then subjected to different functional assays, to characterize their phenotypic differences experimentally. mRNA sequencing and analysis was performed by Novogene. Specifically, NovaSeq X Plus Series (PE150), RNA sample QC,Standard Analysis, mRNA library preparation (poly A enrichment).
