资源简介:
Samples from Sites 24HL948, 24HL946, 24FR760, and 24CB1266 were submitted for pollen, macrofloral, and protein residue analyses. These sites are located along the Express Pipeline Route Montana Segment that runs north and south through central Montana. Site 24HL948 consists of a tipi ring, while the other three sites represent prehistoric campsites with hearths and midden areas. Soil samples were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains to provide information concerning plant resources utilized by the various occupants of these sites. Pollen washes of groundstone from Site 24CB1266 may yield information about foods processed using the groundstone. Lithic artifacts were analyzed for possible protein residues using a modified forensics procedure. Recovery of protein residues from the tools' surfaces can provide information concerning use of animal resources.
