National Mareographic Network — Dataset

The National Mareographic Network (RMN) is composed of 36 measuring stations uniformly distributed throughout the national territory and located mainly within the port facilities.All stations are equipped with a local data management and storage system and a real-time transmission apparatus (UMTS) at the ISPRA headquarters in Rome. Moreover, in 9 strategic stations for the measurement of particular phenomena (anomalous waves) there is a second satellite data transmission system with IRIDIUM technology that guarantees the connection even in the presence of black-out situations of the UMTS system.Since the new National Mareographic Network is fully operational, ISPRA provides users with updated information related to historical series, real-time observations, prediction of astronomical tidal data, analysis of data for design and scientific purposes.
