资源简介:
This project concerns data from experiments undertaken as part of Richard Durbin's group's long-term research into the evolutionary genomics of the Lake Malawi cichlid fish radiation. It includes samples from several laboratory crosses to map specific traits. All samples sequenced had DNA extracted at WSI from ethanol preserved fin clips, using a 96-well QiaSymphony solution, and were sequenced on Illumina NovaSeq. The Malawi radiation has created several hundred species of cichlid fish that have low genetic divergence (0.15-0.25%) but high phenotypic divergence. Results so far have identified multiple loci under selection and/or genetically associated with adaptive traits. The data from this study will help further characterise these and other functional variants. These data derive from crosses between laboratory stocks established in the UK before 2014 and therefore do not fall under the Nagoya Protocol of the Convention on BioDiversity; however we acknowledge the rights and interests of the peoples and governments of Malawi and Tanzania in their national biodiversity heritage, and urge all users of these data to contribute benefits to those countries commensurate with their use.
