Classroom management is one of the challenge tasks of the staff in a faculty or school. Their duties are not only about arranging each classroom's schedule but also monitoring electrical appliances usage. An air conditioner is one of the electrical appliances which consume a lot of energy power, that might lead to energy waster and cause high utility bill expense. The solution could be done by replacing in-used air conditioners with new Wi-Fi air conditioners or using a smart product that can control an air conditioner through an application. Unfortunately, none of the smart products are designed for classroom while they allow only one air conditioner control through the application at a time. This research aims to create the system that allows a staff or user to real-time control infrared air conditioners in each classroom through the web-based classroom schedule. Raspberry Pi is selected because it is cheap, easy to implement, and can control infrared air conditioner in real-time. This research objectives are 1) to implement Raspberry Pi as an infrared remote control for operating any legacy air conditioner through the web application, 2) to implement the web service on the Raspberry Pi that will receive and forward commands from the web application to an air conditioner, 3) to implement the web application that provides classroom schedule in which manual or automatic air conditioner control can be done on it, and 4) to allow multiple air conditioners control through the same web application. After implementing and testing the system, we can conclude that this system can control legacy infrared air conditioners due to the fact that Raspberry Pi is able to learn each air conditioners remote control through the web application. The system also allows multiple air conditioner control through the web application at a time; this makes RACOS the only one system that can control many rooms' air conditioners through the web-based room schedule. While comparing to other smart products intends to control air conditioners through their applications, RACOS provides much reasonable price control device.
