Molecular Identification of the Tetrahymena thermophila intracellular patterning gene hypoangular 1 (hpo1)

Sequencing data of four alleles of hpo1 were used to identify the hpo1 gene through an allelic contrast analysis. To this end, mutant lines carrying one of the four alleles each were outcrossed. From the F2 generation of each outcross two pools, one phenotypically Wt, the other mutant, were formed and subjected to sequencing and contrast analysis.
