Fish communities and temperature requirements according to OGewV

This classification does not follow the criteria of classical water zoning (fish regions), but is based on the preferential temperatures of fish species. The fish species found in the rivers of Saxony were divided into three species groups (species of Salmonid Rhithral, Cyprinid-Rhithrals and Potamals) in terms of their temperature claims and the allocation of the fish communities/fishwater type depending on their total proportions in the reference fish zenoses.
