Comparison of three artificial rumen systems for rumen microbiome modeling

Comparison of three in-vitro rumen models, one batch system and two semi-continuous systems, to each other and to the rumen fluid donor animal. The three engineered systems were run in parallel for five days using an initial inoculum source from a single ruminant. The microbiome and mycobiome of each vessel was evaluated every 24 hrs for a total of 120 hrs and compared to the rumen fluid of the donor cow at the corresponding time point.
