Replication Data for: Sectoral interests and regional bloc voting in African countries

This dataset was created to contribute to a new line of research on interest-based and policy determinants of electoral cleavages in African presidential contests since the 1990s. It combines constituency-level electoral data with 1) DHS survey data on ethnic identifications and on occupations and 2) agricultural production data from IFPRI. The dataset allows researchers to investigate the links between these variables and electoral outcomes. It can be used to replicate the results from the associated publication.
